Lip Enhancement
Prior to lip injection, the lips are frozen with nerve blocks similar to the dentist so there will be no pain during the procedure. There are different areas of the lip that can be injected depending on the desired effect. If you just want fuller lips then the pulp of the lip is filled, if you need definition to your lips then the border between the lip and the skin ( the white roll) is filled, and if you lack the peaks above the central lip then these may be formed. Lip enhancement requires 1 or more vials of Restylane or Perlane depending on the amount of enhancement desired. Enhancement of the lips lasts up to 6 months and can be repeated indefinitely. The procedure takes 30-60 minutes and after there will be some swelling, mild discomfort, and possibly bruising for 1 or more days. Before and After Photos

Verticle Lip Lines ( Smoker's Lines) Vertical lip lines form above the lips because of aging and sun exposure, smoking, playing wind instruments and genetics. These are best treated with a combination of miniscule amounts of Botox and Restylane or Restylane Fine Lines. The Botox is usually injected 1-2 weeks before the filler is injected. The Botox smooths the lines and will help prevent excessive pursing of lips which may push the filler out of position. Prior to injecting the filler, the upper lip and skin is frozen with a dental block. Vertical lip lines usually require a half-vial of Restylane and will usually last 6-12 months. The choice of Restylane or Restylane Fine Lines is determined by the depth of the wrinkles.
